    How it works

    1. Count your missed calls

Check your phone's call log for a normal week and count the calls you didn't answer and never called back. Guess if you need to; you can change it.

    2. Enter your booking rate and job value

Of the calls you do answer, what percent turn into a booked job? Then your average job value in dollars.

    3. See the cost

The weekly, monthly and yearly numbers update as you type. Enter your email if you want a copy of the numbers.

How the number is worked out

    The formula

Missed calls per week × the percent of calls that book × your average job value = revenue missed per week. A month is 52 ÷ 12 weeks, and a year is 52 weeks.

Why missed calls rarely call back

Someone looking for a contractor usually calls the next business on the list when nobody picks up. By the time you call back, they may have already booked someone else.

What you can do about it

Answer more calls, return missed calls within minutes, or set up a missed-call text back: an automatic text that goes out the moment you miss a call, so the customer has a reply while you're on a job.

    Use your own numbers

The result is only as good as the numbers you enter. Your call log and your invoices give you the real ones.

    Questions about the tool.

Your phone's call log shows missed calls. Many business phone systems and Google Business Profile call history show them too. Count a normal week.

Use your own: of the calls you answer, how many become a booked job. If you don't track it, look at last week's calls and jobs and make an honest estimate.

An automatic text message sent to anyone whose call you miss, like "Sorry we missed you, how can we help?". The customer can text back, and you reply when you're free.

No, and the calculator doesn't assume it does. It only counts missed calls at the same rate your answered calls book, using your numbers.

Stop losing the calls you miss.

Our missed-call text back replies to every caller you can't pick up, in seconds, so the job doesn't go to the next business on the list.
